I grew up on a farm, and farming has been part of my life for close to fifty years. That background is why I understand rural workplaces the way I do. I became an Employment Advocate in 2023, working with employers and employees across rural Bay of Plenty and Waikato.
Governance has also been a significant part of my career. I chair DairyNZ's Directors Remuneration Committee and sit on the LIC Honoraria Committee and the Fonterra Remuneration Committee. I've also served six years as Chair of the Rotorua Rural Community Board, held numerous Council committee roles, and currently serve as a trustee on the Citizens Advice Bureau's National Board. I'm a member of the Employment Law Institute of New Zealand (ELINZ) and a Certified Mediator with the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ).
My approach is practical, fair and confidential - focused on finding a way through a workplace problem, not dragging it out.
My work spans employment advocacy, independent mediation, governance and the rural sector, bringing together practical experience, sound judgement and a strong understanding of people, workplaces and communities.
